As a woman of color, a Latina living in the Borderlands of the United States, we brown women have been silenced and viewed as "irrevelant." We must understand the forces of colonialism and how we have endured post-colonial oppression in academia, in the workplace and in everyday interactions. We do have important voices and stories to tell about what it means to be an oppressed woman as many of us have undergone the process of "conscientization." It is time for all women to educate one another in this process. We cannot be victims nor be complicit in maintaining the status quo. I thank you for your workbook!

Michel Foucault said history is shaped both by what is said and what is left unsaid, and I need to say (over and over again, white women (me included) must admit that we've been used to silence women of color. It's become part of our behavior. We do this without hesitation, without stopping to think about the effect. Remember the election, where more than 50% of us voted to keep a woman of color out of office? This is the unspoken history of white feminism.

ms. clark, in calling out white feminism it is imperative that we use real images that feature real people. when AI generated images are used, the human beings who experience these things and fight for their rights are erased.

You make an important point. When I got the image from the stock images on Substack, it didn't hit me how not using a real person's face would contribute to the problem. I can see that it sends the message that the racist behavior of white women is benign, which is not how I feel. Thank you for bringing this up to me!
